Summary

There will be a included directory for a detailed explanation of everything changed seen in the message above. We are striving to complete all suggestions that make the cut as quickly as possible but still maintain a good level of detail in each feature. First we will talk about things that was UPDATED rather than added;

Graves

We realized pretty early on that this needed to be updated but "to what" was the question. We decided that while everyone has a damage reduction, people were still managing to die pretty quick so we needed to think of a way for people to get back to their graves while not being broken and too OP. We introduced a gradual Echelite cost if you need to get back to your grave!

How does it work?

When you die, you will spawn with a compass like normal but you will see a brand new message when you respawn telling you to Right click your compass.

image.png

Teleporting Cost

The very first teleport will be at no cost to you. This will change on the 2nd teleport which will cost 5 Echelites and increase by 5 per use of the compass. You can expect if you die a lot that this will become costly however, do note that this will cap at 100 Echelites in cost to teleport to your grave.

image.png

Reclaiming your grave

Before there was always question on how long your grave will last as I always forgot to properly update this however, you can now expect this to last for a full 6 hours. When teleporting to your grave or walking/flying to your grave, you will see a changed "Echo" which is just a static NPC of your skin with particles around and your name as the name tag. Right click this NPC to retrieve all your items. (You will receive a 60 second immunity timer when using the teleport feature as a added bonus to the cost of Echelites.) Misc changes

  • If you die in the void and There's no blocks under you, it will automatically spawn a 3x3 stone platform.
image.png

Claim

There was a massive amount of things changed in this update which will please most of you. The bulk of the suggestions that was made was to improve this feature even further. With the idea coming from a lot of existing plugins on the market, we decided to set this apart from existing plugins by given the claimer more options when setting chunk permissions. We have expanded on this by adding a few more settings and some QOLs.

Mob Spawn Controller

This is an absolutely MASSIVE addition to the /claim command. This adds the ability to set specific mobs for your claimed chunks. This not only can help protect you while AFKing at your base but also will allow you to create brand new never before-seen farms. All you do is double click the mob egg that you wish to have despawned from your claims. This means any of this mob currently in your claim will despawn and any of this mob that wonders into your claimed chunk will despawn. Click it again to re-enable the mob spawning in your chunk.

image.png

TNT Explosions

While on the core side of this chunk setting, nothing change however, the wording was changed to help better understand. This is now called TNT Explosions and will show as disabled/enabled.

image.png

Freeze Fluids

With the lava casting possibilities we needed to ensure your claims were safe! This is a quick and easy way to prevent any liquids from flowing into your claimed land.

image.png

In action this would look something like this

image.png

Creeper Explosions

Similar to the TNT chunk setting, this was renamed to ensure better understanding of the enabled/disabled status. Previously there was also a bug which was fixed Bug Fix

  • Prevented the ability of constantly buying it when disabled and re-enabled.
image.png

Allow Right Clicking

This chunk setting was overhauled from the prior which was to just allow the user to open/close doors. Now this prevents the user from Right clicking at all while in your claim! The name of this was changed to fit as well.

image.png

Fire Spread

With this disabled, you will never see your wooden house burn down again! While fire can still spread 1 block with this setting enabled, it will not effectively burn the flammable objects.

image.png

Prevent Sethome

Another suggestion completed! Now when someone wants to set their home at your base, they can't! This will drastically help with the griefing of your claimed chunks if you for any reason would not have the settings enabled that allow users to do so.

image.png

Prevent Raids

Yes, another suggestion completed! We heard you and wanted to implement this as it only makes sense to add. Stop raids from happening at your claimed chunks when you teleport home after being at a raid farm or from anyone who wants to be a pest.

image.png

Flight

This may be controversial to some however, thinking of this on the grand scale, this really is not that large of a change. We already have Elytras so What's a simple flight feature? This does come at a cost however which requires an unlock. To unlock this you need

  • 100 Claims

Once you have the 100 claims unlocked, you can enable the flight. This is not a saved setting meaning you would need to enable it after restart/relog. This flight will automatically end when leaving your claimed chunk after just

  • 2 seconds

so make sure you have your borders on while using it and be low to the ground!

image.png
image.png

Individual Chunk Settings

This is another rather beefy change! This will allow you to now set the chunk settings per chunk. To do this follow the guide below.

  • Type /claim
  • Click on "Owned Chunks"
image.png
  • Click on the chunk you are in which will be enchanted or the chunk you wish to set the settings for
image.png
  • Click on Chunk Settings
image.png

All changes will save to that chunk specifically and will not be overridden by your "default" chunk settings which was set in the first /claim screen. If you change the default chunk settings, all individual chunk settings will change UNLESS you have set it in the individual chunk settings.

Chunk Descriptions

You can now set the chunk descriptions of any claimed chunk after you select it in the Owned Chunks section. This will be displayed when someone is viewing that chunk in the /publics command or when you view it in your Owned Chunks section.

image.png

Cost Change

I have heard you guys loud and clear! This needed to be changed and it has been officially changed for the better. We understand that chunk claiming shouldn't be insanely difficult to achieve. We have updated this to a much more reasonable cost.

  • 1st claim = 50
  • Total = 50
  • 2nd claim = 50
  • Total = 100
  • 3rd claim = 50
  • Total = 150
  • 4th claim = 50
  • Total = 200
  • 5th claim = 50
  • Total = 250
  • 6th claim = 75
  • Total = 325
  • 7th claim = 75
  • Total = 400
  • 8th claim = 75
  • Total = 475
  • 9th claim = 75
  • Total = 550
  • 10th claim = 75
  • Total = 625

This trend will continue forever without a "cap" but is much much more manageable in terms of Echelites. Here are some milestones;

  • 100th claim = 525
  • Total = 28,750
  • 250th claim = 1275
  • Total = 165,625
  • 500th claim = 2525
  • Total = 643,750
  • 1000th claim = 5025
  • Total = 2,537,500

Compensation? Yes, when you log in after had spent so much on prior chunk claims, you will see a chat message with the amount you have been refunded based on the amount you spent previously on the chunks. Benevolent owner I know.

Misc Changes

  • Added /claim quick to allow you to quickly claim the chunk you are in instead of having to go through the UI.
  • Better resolved the flow of the Creeper Explosions chunk setting.

Publics

Not a LOT was changed but we did make a few changes. Noticably we added;

  • Uses based on how many times the Public chunk was teleported to seen when hovered in the /publics command
image.png
  • Descriptions which is set from the /claim command.
image.png

Noticeboard

This was looking a bit scrubby before and had no real purpose outside of just seeing some basic information. So to help with this we just made it look better!

  • Added /help to the bottom which provides helpful information on current commands.
image.png

/Spawn

We know that some people don't even want to have to visit the spawn everytime they want to look at a store/shop and with the addition of the Echelite Trader (Which is a spoiler if you are reading from top to bottom) we wanted to make it a bit easier for you as the player to visit these shops without having to teleport to the spawn. Now when you execute the command, you are given 2 options to either teleport to the spawn or interact with the NPCs at spawn or Trade. Misc Changes

  • Removed Vote point reward (2 hour immunity)
  • Reduced Echelon Box cost to 5 Vote Points
image.png

/Toggle

With the brand new addition of setting where you spawn after you die, this command was given a flow change. Now when executing this command you will see 2 options being the same Auto Path option and the new "Death Spawn Preference".

image.png

Setting this preference will either respawn you at the /spawn location or at your bed if you have it set.

/Sethome

Curious about how many /sethomes you have? Great news! When you do /sethome you now see a revamped UI which shows you all the homes you currently have set.

image.png

You can also click on each home to edit this home with brand new features.

  • Rename the home
  • Teleport to the home
  • Set the description for the home
  • Delete the home

Each option does exactly what you think it will do so to avoid over-explaining I will just say the notable feature which is the name of each home now displaying when you teleport to the home.

image.png

Echelite Trader

The Echelite trader is a brand new NPC found at /spawn which will trade with you! You can trade him paper for a physical currency of Echelites and much much more.

image.png

The first trade is the Paper for Echelites which can be shift clicked and space bar clicked just like a normal villager trader. You can redeem all Echelites traded by Right clicking the Echelite in your hand which will redeem all Echelites that you have in your hand and inventory automatically. (Yes, you can trade the Echelites with others if you would like.)

image.png

This trader has a very extensive list of items you can trade which I will post below;

Anti-Cheat

We understand how important fair gameplay is to everyone and to make sure everyone is on the same page, we have added some features to help prevent cheating. While prevention of cheating entirely is extremely difficult, we have added some custom features to help prevent it. The first rollout of this is anti-xray. This is a bit of a secret but for some sort of understanding this is before the anti-xray was added;

image.png

This is after;

image.png

AFK Status

How frustrating is it talking to someone you think is there? Very... We added a server wide announcement for whenever someone goes AFK! This is a simple change but a needed change and was completed from a prior suggestion like most of these!

image.png

Chat

This received some decent upgrades now only to in-game but also in the Discord chat. The first on this list is the chat dividers which really helps clean up the chat with easier to read information!

image.png

Discord Chat

This was also updated to include Tiers and team names!

image.png

/Help

With new players soon to be joining more frequently, we needed to ensure everyone was able to catch up with information provided. As the first step to help in this, we added the /help command which allows users to see all the commands they have access to and a short description of what each command does. This should help! Right?

image.png

/Bug

There's not a whole lot here but since this is *new* I would like to place it here as well. This is basically a reskinned version of /suggest which allows you to bug report something and if it is a valid bug and is fixed, you will still earn a Echelar once fixed!

Minecraft 1.21.11

HUGE update by Mojang and we want to make sure you can enjoy it here at Echelon. We have updated the plugin with 1.21.11 support fully. Just join the server on any non-hacking 1.21.11 client and play like normal! If you are playing instead still on 1.21.10 due to client side mods not being updated yet, you still can! You will see a warning telling you to update but we do have backwards compatibility now 🙂

image.png

Additional Changes

  • Updated Echelon tier progression in the spawn store so upgrade costs scale correctly instead of resetting full-cost pricing per tier.

Discord Changes

We recently decided to make a feature to allow you to invite users to the discord to receive some added rewards! Now you can invite someone to the Discord and if they join you will receive a fat bonus of 1,000 Echelites for every single person you invite!

*Do not try to abuse this as it is tracked and your inviting privileges and Echelites will be revoked.*

A leaderboard of top inviters is now shown in the Discord invite leaderboard channel.

image.png

Server Status

This channel received a much needed update to also include a player graph of the last 24 hours and also the IP to join straight in the message which will eliminate the need for the Play Now channel. That channel will be deleted to ensure the discord stays only as large as it needs to be in terms of amounts of channels.

image.png

Misc fixes

  • The /back command now ignores /spawn teleports and sleeping in beds.
  • Fixes to the Echeload to act more like a player to help with portal farms.
  • Using /home with only 1 home set will default to that singular home instead of requiring you to specify.

Updates

Massive feature which I think will be instantly underrated as Discord is a thing for most users however, you can now type /updates and select the Update you would like to see and then click on the features within each update to view that information in full.

image.png

When inside you will see at the bottom a lodestone which will allow you to teleport back to spawn directly or view other update posts. You can also just type /updates or /spawn to teleport around.

image.png

MOTDs

These have not changed since the start of the server. We added a load of Update 3.0 MOTDs so when you are refreshing the server in the server list or about to join you will see a brand new nice looking MOTD. Just looks more professional. (Added colors to it as well.)

image.png

The Upper Echelon Advancements

This is a tentative roll out of the new Echelon advancements called The Upper Echelon. This is going to be form fitted into a way to turn repetitive tasks into rewarding perks for your gameplay! Some featured suggestions have made this all the more possible. This will support the following command /adv and also a brand new Advancement page when pressing [L] or whichever keybind you have set for the Advancements tab or pressing [Escape] --> Advancements. Both option will show the same information!

All advancements will need to be completed in a linear fashion meaning the first advancement needs completed before you can do the 2nd and so on.

Advancements

The Upper Echelon This is a simple Perk that is unlocked Right away. There is a small reward of 50 Echelites for this which gives a sense of progression Right away!

image.png

Spawn

This second perk is similar. This just gets you used to using the /spawn command which allows you to visit the NPCs at home as needed. 100 Echelite reward!

image.png

Claim

After just 10 claims you can earn 150 Echelites!

image.png

Summary

We completed 29 suggestions in this update and migrated to a new host. There is still a lot ahead, and player suggestions continue to guide development direction.

Player Base

We know the active player base is still small, and growth is a focus. This update is aimed at improving polish and retention so new players can see long-term stability and meaningful content.

Partners

EchelonMC is currently hosted with CentrixNodes. Partnership and hosting details are shared in the Discord partnership and affiliate channels.

Forums

We are adding staff-made guides in the Discord forum channels so players can learn feature workflows and optimize gameplay. Over time, this guide system will also be surfaced in game alongside /updates.

Thank you to everyone who has played so far and to everyone joining in the future. Special thanks to all tier members who helped with testing, suggestions, and feedback across new and existing features.
